Quickies: Felicia Day, creepy dudes, and NASA sounds
- Felicia Day’s public details put online after she described Gamergate fears – “But just minutes after her post was made, a commenter with the username “gaimerg8” posted what they claimed was her address and personal email in the comment section below the post. The comment, and the entire comment section, have since been removed.” From mrmisconception.(Here’s Felicia’s original post.)
- Feminist as Fuck t-shirt – Designed by friend-of-Skepchick Sarah Hamilton and sold through John Green’s store. Half of Sarah’s royalty is being donated to the National Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
- Attention men: Don’t be a creepy dude who pesters women in coffee shops and on the subway – Lindy West nails it again. “Why is it that interrupting someone in a quiet moment, wilfully oblivious to their verbal and physical cues, is considered friendly, but rebuffing such an interruption is considered rude?”
- NASA has a soundcloud – This is just delightful.
- Cute Animal Friday! Today’s theme is grumpiness. Meet Garfi, the world’s grumpiest cat. And then behold the Black Rain Frog, who looks like “a cranky little balloon” (From Ryan).
Isn’t that frog one of the aliens from Flight of the Navigator?
I’m gonna add this one for cute animal Friday

If you scroll down a lot (a LOT) in the NASA soundcloud, you get to some actual physics sounds. The whistler waves from Jupiter (“lightning on Jupiter”) are pretty awesome.
There’s also CRaTER live, which somehow is taking current data from the LRO cosmic ray telescope and converting it to music. This happens in the office next to mine and I don’t really understand how he does it. Marty claims he can hear patterns in the data this way.
