- Adopt a skull and help save a collection that helped debunk phrenology – “The Mütter Museum in Philadelphia wants you to adopt a skull. Among their strange and fascinating collection of medical artifacts and anatomical specimens is a collection of 139 skulls collected in the 1800s by Viennese anatomist Joseph Hyrtl, who was trying to debunk the then-popular pseudoscience of phrenology.”
- Teaching evolution with animations – A Kickstarter for a series of animations by Stated Clearly including artwork by the wonderful Rosemary Mosco of Bird and Moon. Check out the four animations they’ve already created on their Kickstarter page.
- How Doctor Who survived 50 years – “A committee created it, to fill a time slot. It had a small budget. The BBC intended for it to be a children’s educational show focusing on science and history.”
- Fundraiser for rape joke soda – From Anna, who put it well, “Nope! Geek culture doesn’t have a problem with rape AT ALL.”
- Cute Animal Friday! Lion cub playing in leaves, from weatherwax. It’s really hard to type dik-dik correctly, from pciszek.

Just looking for fun pics and interesting angles. I even took a picture OF my feet, up in the air, my first car’s front grille in the background…
Oops, wrong thread. Sorry!
