Virtual Bake Sale: A Custom-made Corset from Carrie!
Previously on the Virtual Bake Sale, we started the auction of a signed XBox 360.
Today, I’m very excited to announce that we’ll be auctioning off a corset, custom-made for you by carr2d2! Here’s the info:
Have you always wanted your own Star Trek-themed corset? How about something Firefly-inspired, or maybe a Care Bears print?
Skepchick.org’s own carr2d2 will make a custom corset for the winning bidder, and you’re only limited by what fabrics she can get her hands on!
Send in your measurements, theme preferences, and what style you’d like and she’ll work with you to create a one-of-a-kind, fully lined, steel-boned corset just for you.
Previous creations include Rebecca Watson’s Bordello Party costume (seen in pic 1), a Care Bears design Carr made for herself a few months back (pic 2), and Tim3P0’s Knave of Hearts costume (pic below) at last year’s DragonCon (that’s right! Corsets aren’t just for girls!
Between you and me, a corseted dude is close to the pinnacle of hawtness).
This auction is part of the Skepchick.org Virtual Bake Sale. Your winning bid will go toward a plane ticket and hotel room for Rebecca Watson of Skepchick.org to get to Dragon*Con in Atlanta, and if over the course of the Virtual Bake Sale we happen to raise more than we need, the rest will go to the Women Thinking Free Foundation, an organization devoted to bringing science, skepticism and critical thinking to women of the Midwest.
Corseted dudes?
To quote feministhulk,
“SMASHING GENDER BINARY LEAD TO COOLER OUTFITS.”
Ouch.
@Chelydra: yes. no pointy corsets for dudes. unless they’re into that sort of thing :p
remember this one? love it!
Me in a corset, the mind boggles.
And, Rebecca, I have to say that your corset shot as your Facebook avatar is quite distracting throughout the workday.
I’ve put quite a few boys in corsets and they always look lovely!
I’m a big corset fan, so I really may have to look into bidding on this, although I don’t have too much free cash to play with. :(
