It would seem from this map that people’s choice of religion has more to do with regionalism than with absolute truth. Â Blasphemy!

Is it just me, or is there actually a small county in Texas (of all places) where Atheists are the plurality? Sure, they call them "None," but you know what they mean.
don't get too excited.
i just looked googled the county in question (loving county) and it has a population of about 60 people.
take from that what you will.
Hang on–! I'm from Pennsylvania; What happened to the Quakers? They're not even listed as "none!"
And this is only a map for Christians? What about Jews, Muslims, Hindus, Buddhists, Scientologists, and –um…stuff…?
My question would be – and this is something I've been wondering for awhile now – what's the deal with drawing a distinction between Catholics, every different Protestant sect, and "Christians," as this map does?
Hmm, I guess the likely explanation is that there just aren't any churches in that county.
As for the lack of other religions being represented, I'm guessing that they just don't have a plurality anywhere.
The Quakers are #4 under "*Other" listed merely as "Friends".
Wherever that #4 is on the map it is too small for me to read.
I'm surprised that there isn't more grey in PA. The Friends are highly influential and well represented here.
Hey, this map is 8 years old …
Really? I don't know any. Lots of Mennonites though.
That red is really scary. It's an appropriate color, isn't it? Makes one gasp out loud while the Catholics are a more soothing hue.
[Is spiffy gravatar working, me wonders?]
Yea! spiffy gravatar working!
That post was meant to reply to RayWinston.

Alaska is apparently the hide away state for anyone fed up with mainstream religion.
Poor Unitarians — we don't even have a plurality in a county in Massachusetts.
Idoubtit– Are you near reading or Allentown, perchance? That's where we keep a lot of our Neo-Nazis and White Supremacists.
No, Harrisburg (the emerald city) – where we keep our money-grubbing, procrastinating, do-nothings. (I'm not one of those – I only grub money that's due to come to me anyway and I actually DO something, though you might not know it due to the "speed" of bureaucracy.)
