- The NASA scientist who answers your 2012 apocalypse emails – “The emails started filtering in at a trickle, but after a few years of what he called “relative peace,” it’s become a deluge. He estimated that over the past four years, he’s gotten over 5,000 emails related to doomsday.”
- More than half of this year’s Hugo awards went to women – And you can read a lot of their works online, for free.
- Get vaccinated or you’ll become a zombie – So says random guy at Dragon Con.
- The Kinsey Reporter – This app allows people to anonymously report sexual behavior. For science!
There’s something really peculiar going on on the Bug Girl – Spineless article. I cannot click on any of the links, nor can I comment. On this page everything is fine. Any idea what the problem is?
Hmmm, that sorted it. Sorry about that. There should be an edit/delete button. Anyway, thanks for that Hugos link!

I can’t remember who came up with the suggestion, but I think that some said that the day after December 21st 2012, we should have a “world has not ended” party.
That would be the perfect cure for the hangover from the “End of the World” party on Dec 21st.. :-)
Apuc,
Cool!
In 2011, purely by coincidence, my local skeptics’ group picked May 21 for its spring banquet. We later discovered that this was the day Harold Camping had chosen for the Second Coming. This prompted discussions about whether we should start with dessert in case the world ended before we finished lunch.
I’m told that British skeptics tracked down Camping believers on the 22nd just so they could say, “Cheer up, it’s not the end of the world.”
Since December 21st is a Friday, people might want to move their weekend plans forward.
