- Fear and loathing on Mount Sinai! To quote my brother who sent me this link, “Moses was trippin’ balls when he brought down the ten commandments.”
- You have got to check out the video posted at Pandagon about the Texas sex toy battles. There is not a single second that isn’t awesome. And of course Amanda’s post is great, too.
- Scientists discover a gene that is associated both with short stature in women AND long life.
- Mike the Mad Biologist posts on “Clonal Spread, Antibiotic Resistance, and UTIs” and includes a LOLbacteria.
- And butterflies remember what they learned as caterpillars. I want that job description: caterpillar trainer.
Choice quote from the sex toy video, in the section about the Texas legislature making heterosexual sodomy a crime:
"Mr. Speaker … what's the penalty range for a Class C misdemeanor?"
(pause) "If you were in mah county, it could be hangin'."
PRICELESS! I liked the description of the legislators howling and barking back in the old days of the Texas government … that'd spice things up a bit, wouldn't it? Sort of like "more cowbell", just for senators.
Well, John, who wrote Revelations, was certainly stoned. So why not Moses, too?
Actually, that explains quite a bit … combine a serious case of the munchies with a blissfully oblivious ability to focus on teeny tiny details for three hours straight ("Look! I can see every single hair on the back of my hand!"), and you pretty much get the Old Testament dietary laws.
You know, we may be onto something here … "There were three angels at the tomb!" "No, dude, there was just one, you were totally wasted that day." "So was there really an earthquake to roll the stone away, or was that just me trippin'?" "Dude … I have NO IDEA, just write something down and call it good."
