Skepticism
LiveBlogging the Debate
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: I don’t know crap about politics. But when has not knowing about something ever stopped me from shooting my mouth off? Plus, it is known that I can mock with the best of them. So when the nice folks over at Amateur Scientist asked for representatives from Skepchick to LiveBlog the debate with them in MST3K style, how could I resist? Elyse and I will be LiveBlogging over there tomorrow (Wednesday, October 15) at 8 p.m. along with folks from Pink Raygun and Amateur Scientist and maybe even some other special guests. Don’t miss it!
I love to listen to you shoot off at the mouth, you are very entertaining. Thanks to you, I’ll be watching the debate and following the blog. It’ll be better than playing Palin bingo like I did for the VP debate.
I think the debate actually starts at 9pm, but we’ll start congregating online and making sure everything works around 8:30.
McCain is supposed to Bring Da Noise/Funk tonight. Should be fun.
Wow, phlebas and masala? The blogging should be spectacular…no pressure, though.
With the people we have lined up, Masala_Skeptic and I are the undercard :)
Brian & Bob from Amateur Scientist, Lisa from Pink Raygun, Tim from WhatsTheHarm, and of course our very own Elyse. Maybe one other surprise guest if this person can get free.
It should be fun :)

Just a reminder, lest we forget or assume the Presidential election is a done deal (whoever your pick is) – on the week of October 5, 2000, Al Gore was 9 points ahead of George W. Bush in the national polls.
@TheSkepticalMale:
So it’s time for McCain to BRING DA THUNDA! WOO HOO! It is so on!
He’s gonna call me his friend again, I know it.
John McCain is the maverickiest maverick that ever mavericked.
@TheSkepticalMale:
I don’t even want to think it. The horror. The horror.
ROFLmeow! Funniest running commentary I’ve ever seen!
@themadlolscientist:
Thanks! I’m glad it came across okay. I honestly couldn’t tell how it was going. I was typing and watching and trying to monitor observer comments, and didn’t have a lot of time to read along. Looking forward to editing the log this weekend :)
Our live blog got picked up by the news!

Apparently some students at the University of New Mexico projected the debate alongside two live blogs, one of which was ours. A local TV station did a story on how students are making up their minds on how to vote.
I think that’s wicked cool, both that UNM would do that, and that they picked ours. I hope they enjoyed it, although I’m curious how they found out.+
