Hey skeptical Illini! Good news! This weekend is the first ever Chambana Skeptics in the Pub! With the Chicago meet-ups and this new downstate group, soon the state of Illinois will be nothing but skeptics!
I was hoping to make it down for this meet up, but regretfully it’s not happening. Please drink for me in spirit (and have a few for the rest of the Skepchicks as well.)
I’ve got the details after the fold, but first I want to point out how much SkepGeek rocks for putting this together. Many of you have asked us why there are no meet-ups in your areas. The answer is: because you haven’t put one together yet! If you are not already going to meet-ups because they’re all too far from you, your homework assignment for this weekend is to make some calls and put one together!

Actually, I did that with screwdrivers in 2 hours once, but damn I was messed up after 14 (7 double shot screwdrivers). I was probably in trouble well before I got that far, though. So, maybe half a drink per skepchick.

You know, I’ve never even been to Detroit. I imagine it’s a pretty cool town though, seeing how it’s the source of the Insane Clown Posse and all.

I was disappointed that I hadn’t been able to make a meet-up, and then, like magic, MasalaSkeptic is coming to my hometown! I didn’t even have to try. I believe, I believe!
At the moment I’m hanging out at my parents’ house in Crestview. That’s about 40 miles East of Pensacola.
