This piece of legislation makes me feel like burning things as well. I doubt any petition sponsored by Move On would even make it to the desk of a GOP representative however. Better to call or e-mail your congressperson directly as well I would think.

Rebecca left off her list of legalized rapes that of comatose women, just in case your disgust quota for the day hasn’t quite been met.
(Okay, I know that the bill doesn’t actually legalize rape, but it’s right up there with making women who report having been raped pay for the rape test.)
Minecraft is not quite right for a proper reaction to these shenanigans, IMHO. I prefer Dwarf Fortress’ typical way of dealing with nobles and administrators making unreasonable demands and mandates:
Build a room. Dig an access so that you can flood it with magma on command. Place a lever in the room. Hook it up to that oddly warm floodgate there. Label the lever so it may only be pulled by the noble in question.
I leave the results as an exercise for the reader.
I adore Minecraft. I can barely listen to my normal NPR in the mornings, these days, thanks to what’s going on in the Senate. With so much anger in the morning, who even needs coffee?

I think the bigger issue here is that it’s absurd for Congress to define what can be covered and what can’t in health care. A system that codifies backwards religious views into it’s structure is bound to be just as bad or worse than the current system.

If it’s correct, I think this, while not as heinous as trying to use weasel words like forcible rape, is appalling. We already have stupid states that allow pharmacists refuse to dispense medications based on their beliefs. Federal protection of these people who shouldn’t be in medicine in the first place is even wronger (more wrong than wrong).

Still, the bill as newly proposed will try to make it prohibitively expensive for any woman to get an abortion.
Does the viciousness cause the stupidity or does the stupidity cause the viciousness? “Forcible rape” is like saying “homicidal murder”. I don’t even get this. If you’re worried about tax efficiency spend it on sex ed and free contraceptives, that has a proven track record.

On a serious note, the bill is pretty bad. This “forcible rape” is utterly nonsensical, as by definition, all rape is forced.
