Psychic Finds Crop Circle, Apparently Has Never Seen QI
(Click through to YouTube and select “CC” if you can’t see the English subtitles.)
This Norwegian psychic investigated a newly discovered crop circle in Wiltshire, England while being filmed by a documentary crew. Her companion was shown the aerial photo and exclaimed, “It’s a man! In a circle!”
Not quite: it’s an “i” in a magnifying glass, the logo of Stephen Fry’s popular panel show “QI”.
At the end of the clip, the psychic says “I know that in the next days, my life will change a lot. A lot!” Yep. But maybe not for the better . . .
As a Norwegian, this made my day. It’s almost like a viral marketing ad for QI.
Stephen Fry: 1
Psychics: 0
@jrpowell:
I would put the score at at LEAST
Stephen Fry: 2
Psychics: 0
And if anyone hasn’t seen QI, it is an absolutely fantastic programme for anyone who loves interesting facts and humor.
Those in the U.S. will be utterly refreshed to see things like the host saying, “Religion: shit it.” Then more refreshed to hear the hearty round of applause that that line drew.
New series starts Friday!
@qyiet:
Make that 3-0: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qUxWdIQVT_c
@Bechamel: I liked the one where Stephen Fry was quoting from the Bible and Alan Davies complained because he was quoting from a fictional character. Also drew a good round of applause.
I’d make it more like:
Stephen Fry 1, psychics -3000.
Alan Davies may be the official low scorer of the show, but these people would top him, easily.
Honestly, I think a sketch about crop circles would be reason enough for one more series of Fry & Laurie.
@Stephan Brun: Plus Alan Davies has actually won on a few occasions – psychics never win.
@Andrew Nixon, actually, psychics renegotiate the rules afterwards to make it look like they won when they actually lost.
@MagnusE: Are we sure this isn’t viral marketing? It’s too good.
@showmetheevidence: It’s a genuine Norwegian channel and TV-show. Fem is a channel aimed at women and is chock full of woo. Several online media have picked it up, and Fem spokespeople, as well as the “psychic” herself have made lame excuses.
That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t turn it into a viral ad for QI though.
@exarch: Which the channel and the
idiotpsychicidiot are now doing. “It was actually about the whole experience of the trip, and it doesn’t really matter if it’s man made or not, and there was one there last year which wasn’t man made, and fairies come out of my anus when I shower.”Okay the last bit was made up, but the rest is a paraphrased summary of the excuses put forward.
This is literally the greatest thing that I have ever seen. It’s almost too perfect. I certainly hope someone has copied it so when they inevitably take it down from YT in a day or two, it can be uploaded a thousand times over again.
Hyperventilation – the natural high!
@Magnus H.: The TV-station have taken it off their page, but have stated in interviews they will not be seeking to have it removed from anywhere else.
