Skepticism
Skepchick Quickies 9.8
- The Darwin Song Project - Thanks to John, who particularly enjoyed this Darwin song video.Â
- Doonesbury on rationalists – From Paul and Middleman.
- Atheism vindicated through miraculous melon – From Emory.
- Does brain training really work? – “Brain training is a billion dollar industry, but does it actually work? The BBC is launching Britain’s biggest ever brain training experiment to find out.” From Dave.
- David Bowie has a spider named after him – Bug tweeted about this and would like us to know that no, it is not a spider from mars.
Great, now I’m going to have “Ziggy Stardust” going through my head all day…
Sure, the spider says it’s not from Mars but where’s the proof?
Brain Training study is totally supported by the Zombie Council.
Rationalists…I kinda like that, is he the first to come up with that name or was it already in use?
@Steve: Endangered species? Or reconnaissance mission?
@Steve: @Steve: Exactly. I won’t believe it’s a terrestrial species until I see a birth certificate.
If a radioactive David Bowie bit one of the spiders named after him what would it turn into?
@JOHNEA13: A teenager from Queens.
Glad you found a link to that Doonesbury strip. When I saw it Saturday (yes . . . my Sunday comics arrive early Saturday morning here in northern VA) I tried to post a link on Facebook but it wasn’t on-line yet. I especially enjoyed the last couple panels of course. Increasing our influence–at least here in the USA–is a real challenge, although I’m confident that we’ll get there. Don’t particularly care for Trudeau’s “reasonist” tag (as opposed to rationalist)–tongue-in-cheek on his part I’m sure. But who knows–if it takes hold, I’ll use it.
