Quickies: Scam artists are still selling bleach as medicine…
... but at least the ocean is full of cute critters

It’s Friday and the start of a three-day weekend for my fellow United States-ians. But before you get to your memorials, barbecues, sales, and grueling workouts, we have some news and cute animals for you.
First off, say hello to our fearless leader’s fearless dog, Indy! He’s fluffy, he’s happy, and he loooooves everybody. I can confirm that he is a very good cuddle buddy. You can follow that sweet mug on Instagram.
- Skepchick readers have been following this horrific story of a U.S. pastor giving a bleach-based “cure” to sick Ugandans. At least one man involved in the scheme has been arrested, but the story is still unfolding. Hat tip to Muscadine.
- On a similar note, parents are still trying to “cure” their children’s autism with bleach, but two women are going undercover in private facebook groups to try and stop it. Props to Chloe.
- In Texas, LGBTQ discrimination may be allowed by law under the guise of “religious freedom” and a love of chicken sandwiches. (They’re not even that good. Go ahead, fight me.) Credit to Rhuu.
- Everything isn’t terrible though. Head for the water where we have PRIDE SEALS and SQUISHY SEALS and A NEW SEADRAGON and a sea otter that tolerates tooth brushing much better than my dog does. Props again to Muscadine and Chloe.
