Quickies: “Fast Color,” Shamed out of Shaming, Border Wall Con, and Ramadan Etiquette
- “Fast Color” Director Points Out Film’s Lack of Marketing and Hollywood’s Old White, Male Gatekeepers, by Jordan Simon (h/t Muscadine): “‘There is so much lip service in this industry about wanting women to tell stories, wanting people of color to tell stories, wanting to tell stories about women and people of color,’ said [director Julia] Hart. ‘There wasn’t a single print ad for this movie anywhere, and it’s a beautiful freakin’ poster with this beautiful woman’s face on it.'” This movie, about multigenerational black women superheros, looks amazing! I’m pissed off that I’m just hearing about it.

It’s looking like the guy running the campaign, Brian Kolfage, has been spending the donations in the time-honored Trump family tradition: on luxuries for himself, like yachts.
