California Senate Says Show Us Your Taxes or Stay Off Our Ballot

Tell Newsom We Want Verifiable Truth From Those in Power

The California State Senate voted Thursday to pass a bill that tells Trump to put up or STFU. The Bill approved in a 27-10 vote, (all 10 republicans voted no – shocking to literally no-one) now goes to Governor Newsom for his approval and signature.

Republicans are trying to spin the story by saying that this would be bad for everyone, but the reality is that it would really be super-fine and no-biggie at all, for anyone that has legally payed their taxes and HAS NOTHING TO HIDE. It’s time the American people got some honest answers and the evidence we need to make a rational, educated decision at the polls. We all have to pay our taxes, and do basic things like not break the law. Our elected officials need to prove to us that they do the same. You want that sweet, sweet electoral power? Well, we want some verifiable honesty.

A similar bill was passed by California in 2017 but the then Governor, who did not release HIS tax returns, refused to sign the bill.

Are you a Californian? Call or fax Governor Newsom and tell him that this time the bill MUST pass. Here is his number and other public contact info:

The Hill reports that similar bills are working their way through Washington and New Jersey state legislatures.

Power to the people.

  1. Unfortunately, dumping Trump from the California ballot would likely have no effect on the Electoral College. Trump is not going to win California in any way, shape, or form.

    1. I totally agree but it sends a message that we demand transparency and if more states follow it can make a difference, if not with Trump then with future candidates.
