There is a silver lining, though. Zinke means MT’s congressional seat is up for grabs.
Montana’s kind of weird. It’s been a solid red state. They’re in the “last Democrat was Bill Clinton” category. (Before that, Lyndon Johnson.) But their governor is a Democrat, and their Senate is one-all. But the GOP controls the state legislature.
But, everyone hates Trump. I will always say the 2016 election was a rejection of the DLC-style center-right politics; it’s the only possible explanation for how someone so hated could win. So, these special elections are a bit of a mulligan.
