RUSSIA
“Authorities in the Russian republic of Chechnya have launched an anti-gay campaign that has led to authorities rounding up dozens of men suspected of being homosexual, according to the Russian newspaper Novaya Gazeta and human rights activists.”

MALAYSIA
Rape victims can have a good life if they marry their rapists, says Malaysian MP. Shabudin Yahaya says there is ‘nothing wrong’ with rape victims marrying their rapist as they would not face a ‘bleak future’.”

IRELAND
“The Republic of Ireland women’s football team have threatened to go on strike in protest against the “fifth-class citizen” treatment they have received from the Football Association of Ireland.”

CANADA
“A Canadian province has scrapped the dress code which requires female employees to wear high heels. The government of British Columbia (BC) says the requirement is discriminatory as well as being a health and safety issue because they are dangerous.”
