The Phones Are Bugged

Today has been a strange news day. I woke up to tweets seemingly straight out of the Twilight Zone by president numero 45 blaming ex-president Obama for tapping his phones at the Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida. Trump’s tweet:

“How low has President Obama gone to tapp my phones during the very sacred election process. This is Nixon/Watergate. Bad (or sick) guy!”

First of all, sacred election process? Wut? o_O

Second of all, yes we are all thinking about Nixon/Watergate when we think of you too, Trump. It’s the only reference point other than Hitler that we have. Consider it a compliment. We just want you out of office, we don’t necessarily want you to commit suicide with your girlfriend in a barn.

Meanwhile, it’s looking plausible that the FBI or the CIA was granted a FISA warrant to monitor Trump and his close associates in order to examine the link between these men and Foreign Intelligence (read Russia.) during the election. None of this is shocking. We’ve all been well aware of the Trump-Russia connection during the election for quite some time. What is strange is that the actual sitting-I’m-suppossed-to-be-a-grown-ass-adult-not-to-mention-the president of the United States would tweet that this is happening and call Obama a “bad or ‘sick'” guy all in one go. Impressive for 140 characters. It seems the old man shows his immaturity and his hand at every poker game. And by poker, I mean golf because poker is WAY too much of an intellectual, strategic game for that orange-sherbet-toned-son-of-a-b. Here is the casino site https://www.slotsformoney.com/casinos/us/illinois/ that one must check as it is reliable and fun.

If I had found out that my phones were tapped, I certainly wouldn’t advertise it all over the internet. And if I wanted to seem innocent I wouldn’t act so darn guilty all the time. Stopping with all of the projection and name calling, might be smart too. But hey, what do I know? I’m not suspected of possible treason. If I was, maybe I would be terrible to all the people I’m supposed to represent on a daily basis too.

We can only guess what shenanigans the Trump administration will drag to our doorstep next. Rumor is more horrible polices on immigration (making all police immigration officials) and travel bans (a new Executive Order) are headed our way this Monday. The only thing I want deported is this terrible administration. Trump’s meltdown and lack of leadership skills is putting all Americans in serious danger.

It needs to stop. We need true leadership in the White House – and fast.

Don’t confuse “unintelligent” with “disagrees with me about almost everything.” Many people did (still do, I imagine) the same thing with GW Bush. They both won a Presidential election.

I would hazard a guess that underestimation is a very powerful tool for someone who expects it.

  2. Pretty sure she is basing this assessment on… his entire career, and what we know about it (instead of what he brags about it). That said… when even GW makes a back handed remark about the standing president, to the effect that a free press is necessary to hold people like himself accountable, you may just have a damn serious problem. The universe, never mind everything that makes the country tick, isn’t going to start working differently, just because Donald Duck has “alternate facts”, its going to keep going on, or falling apart, based on the “real” ones.

Frankly, it actually scares me that the Dow went up after his speech, because there was nothing, at all, in that speech that suggested we would be making America great again, unless you a) where rich, b) made things for the military, or c) actually thought that the economy could function with even more out of work, poor, and disinfranchised people. But then, it was going “up” right up to the moment it crashed, during the housing bubble too (and ever other crash, when we looked to be doing so damn well, according to stocks, until something went horribly wrong), so.. Why the F are we using it as a metric for how well the country is doing? Oh, right.. because its “We the rich, for the rich.”, under these clowns….

Sometimes there is a damn good reason why someone would disagree with almost everything some joker things is true – its called, “The joker being right about some things by the sheer accident that the things we do agree on are either profitable to them, or not a threat to them, in some vague way (like, omg, the wrong people in a bathroom, or something! vs. yeah, I suppose that brand of cheese tastes good and isn’t a conspiracy against me.).”

One, semi-famous professor once described this as, “Reality has a liberal bias”. At which point, the only real problem, once this point is acknowledged, is to figure out which bits of what gets called “liberal” is actually reality. Hint – if an equal number of conservative and liberals both believe its true, but scientists don’t (i.e., alte-meds, ghost hunting, Dr. Oz, etc.), its probably not reality. lol

The “pres” is good at a) yelling, b) making grand gestures, and c) blaming other people for his own mistakes. Its… unclear whether he is any better at “anything else” than literally anyone else that has ever, mostly, maintained a business, or empire, by simply firing anyone that posed a real threat to their leadership (noting that, in most such cases, fired would probably be a euphemism).

  3. I know it doesn’t have anything to do with Trump (and likely doesn’t have anything to do with Obama either), but the latest data I can find suggests poverty rates and median incomes are on the rise.

    http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/09/13/493751949/census-bureau-poverty-rate-down-median-incomes-up

The only areas that saw income decreases were in rural areas, which is almost certainly why they voted for Trump, who as a putative political outsider seems to offer something other than the status quo.

BTW, don’t think for a second that I find anything about Trump agreeable. I just think it’s wrong to underestimate him. His entire political career (up to this point) has turned on people underestimating him. Those who oppose him need to stop doing that.

  4. Hmm. Way back on November 7th, it is reported that ‘sources’ have said that:
‘a FISA warrant was granted to look at the full content of emails and other related documents that may concern US persons’ around the campaigns incestuous proximity to the Russian Kleptocracy?

So four months later, the Big Cheeto is up at 6:30 AM claiming that the president somehow got his digs at Trump Tower (or is it Mar al Lago) tapped by some personal magic?

This morning, Cheeto’s only possible source seemed to by Breitbart, and there again any report would be filtered through his limited cognition.

  5. Isn’t it much more likely they were listening in on the other side (russians)? This is not news … that countries bug each other and America is certainly doing it as well.

Trump has been intimately involved with Russia in a business sense for years and years. Ties with the Russians and his top cabinet choices are obvious. It’s plain to see.

I have no idea how Congress is holding its nose and ignoring this. They have no shame.

  6. I don’t get Trump. He beat Clinton, he keeps relitigating that, and he’s now targeting politicians people actually like. He can’t win that one.
