Quickies: Girl Scout cookies lead to sin, fast radio bursts, and asexuality

- Archbishop of St. Louis says Girl Scout cookies encourage sin – “Mr Carlson is angry that the Girl Scouts advocate for access to birth control (“even for minors”!), and that they exalt the likes of Gloria Steinem.” From Amy.
- Astronomers solve mystery of fast radio bursts and find half the missing matter in the universe – From criticaldragon1177.
- Willowbrook Girls: Dolls for the next generation of leaders – A kickstarter for dolls with ambitions. From Ray.
- Negative space: On asexuality and atheism – “Our language is full of antonyms, but only some depend on the helpful prefix “a-,” which means “without” or “not.” Interestingly, it seems to be reserved to label things that are not just opposite, but are against the normal order of things. The atypical.”
Amanda,
I would buy girl scout cookies, some girl scouts tried to sell them to me, but unfortunately they tend to be too expensive.
Right?
That and they no long make them with real Girl Scouts.
The price must be a common complaint. This year they’re back down to $5/box, albeit with smaller cookies and fewer per box. Fine by me — better binge control.
The only sin Girl Scout cookies lead me to is gluttony. Oh, so much gluttony. Thin mints, you are a foul temptress.
