Quickies: Viagra for women, science fraud, and manspreading
- “Viagra for women” is backed by FDA panel – “After an intense lobbying campaign, a federal advisory panel recommended approval of what would become the first drug to treat a lack of sexual desire in women.”
- How the biggest fraud in political science nearly got missed – “It’s not just bad apples themselves who are to blame. The scientific process itself has serious structural flaws — flaws that make it hard to catch fraud and, in some cases, even discourage researchers from exposing it.”
- I have been sitting on manspreaders for the last month and I’ve never felt so free – Certainly not something everyone can or should do, but it sure is satisfying to read about.
- Digital artist shows what animated women look like with less unnatural faces – “There’s an obsession in art with making female characters “pretty” that frequently leaves cartoon women with facial features that would scare the crap out of us if they belonged to an actual human being.”
- Cute Animal Friday! From Ray, we have the happiest video ever, full of baby farm animals. And from Michael, check out the this adorably stripy baby tapir.

In the defense of the people who made those cartoons, men rarely have one hundred percent realistic features in children’s cartoon movies either. if I saw men with many of the facial features in those cartoons I’d think I was seeing things as well.
Should be noted that anti-‘manspreading’ laws are enforced more against Latino passengers.
