You know, there might be ways to say that Group X is doing better than Group Y*: for instance, quantifying how much one’s salary will drop by not being white versus not being male, but that’s a narrow category. If the female-male pay gap is larger than the black-white pay gap, but sex makes much less of a difference than race on police stops and searches, then neither group is winning, just getting different ways to lose.
* Never mind that folks can be in both groups.

I was going to post an op-ed addressing why Madonna was still relevant on Monday’s Quickies, and then I saw a quote from her comparing having her music leaked to rape. Nope, better to let her continue to slip into obscurity.
