Quickies: Social punishment of assault victims, women in eSports, and Church of England approves female bishops
- Why does everyone feel so sorry for men accused of being predators? – “Why is it – in a culture purporting to take allegations of sexual assault and harassment seriously – that victims suffer more social punishment than their accused attackers?”
- Women-only eSports events do not mean there should be men-only ones – “Women-only events help this slightly by both removing some of those barriers and fostering a community for an under-represented group to help find their place in the scene and establish a sense of togetherness for the people that fall into that group.”
- Why women and men need feminism – On the “why I don’t need feminism” meme that’s going around. Love the last few lines especially. From Brian.
- Church of England approves female bishops – “The Church of England has finally agreed that women may become bishops next year, breaking with nearly 2,000 years of tradition and ending 20 years of bitter compromises since women were allowed to become priests in 1994.”
