- Ani DiFranco Cancelled Her ‘Righteous Retreat’ to a Former Slave Plantation – I don’t know why plantations aren’t treated the same as other former-places-of-awfulness (in lieu of a better word).
- Fire-Eaters: The search for the hottest chili – The story of gastromasichism. (Have any of you ever tried the ghost chili?)
- The Captain Kirk Problem: How Doctor Who Betrayed Matt Smith – “Capt. James T. Kirk was always been able to find the out, the cheat code, the reset button. He’d never had to face the no-win scenario. Same goes for the 11th Doctor.” (I’ve been meaning to start watching Dr. Who but it seems like such a daunting task.)
- High-profile arrest uncovers plight of India’s invisible workforce – “Diplomat Devyani Khobragade has been accused of paying one of her maids slave wages. She’s not alone.”
BONUS: What if HP Lovecraft wrote “hot singles in your area” spam?
