  1. re the comic convention – I once attended a sexual harassment workshop (no I was not being reprimanded, everyone attended) and the female lecture described a situation similar to yours. She then preceded to role play the scenario something like the following:

    MAN: “inappropriate remark………..”
    WOMAN: “sir, your remark makes me feel very uncomfortable”

    MAN: rewords remark to say something like don’t be so sensitive.
    WOMAN: “please , your remark is offensive and makes me feel very uncomfortable”

    MAN: tries to brush off offence, and says things like “toughen up”
    WOMAN: “please your being hurtful and making me very uncomfortable”

    Thats the best that I can recollect how it went, basically you avoid getting into a discussion, because you will eventually be tricked into defending your ‘oversensitivity’. Instead you stay focused on how HE is making you FEEL and do not deviate.
