Skepchick Quickies 11.13
It’s November 13th, and I don’t have any interesting history facts to share, so please take a minute and enjoy the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Peter and the Wolf.
- I’ve Got Whooping Cough. Thanks a Lot, Jenny McCarthy. – The title says it all. From Anna.
- Huh Means the Same Thing in Every Language – Huh!
- The Sarah Palin War-on-Christmas Soundboard – All the quotes made me gag, especially the one where she invokes Darwin. From Buzz Parsec.
- The feminist case for Catholic school – I feel like there is a lot more that could be written in this article.
- Scientists discover the remnants of a 3.5 billion-year-old ecosystem – If you travel back in time, remember not to step on this particular puddle of goo. From CriticalDragon1177.
- What a tragic death taught me about organized religion – “As a Native girl, I learned the difference between spirituality and dogma when we mourned my aunt and uncle.” (Content warning for a description of death.)
Mary,
Actually if you go back about 3.5 billion years, don’t step in any puddle of goo. You don’t want to kill what could turn out to be the distant ancestor every multicellular organism on the planet, which of course would include us humans.
Mary
About “The Sarah Palin War-on-Christmas Soundboard,” did she really say all those things?
Yes, yes she did.
Add her to the long list of theists who don’t realize that “freedom of religion” is different from “freedom to religion”.
Mrmisconception
She’s one of the most unintentionally funny people out there.
I absolutely love that animated version of Peter and the Wolf. It’s one of the cleanest, best-told stop-motion films I’ve ever seen.
“All the quotes made me gag, especially the one where she invokes Darwin.” Ah, sweet revenge for all those disgusting books you made me read! (That’s Disgusting, Parasite Rex, Who Goes First? and every word ever written by Mary Roach, for example…)
Muaha maybe we should read Sarah Palin’s book next!!
