Chris Mooney & Indre Viskontas are Back with Inquiring Minds

You may recall that a few months ago, Point of Inquiry hosts Chris Mooney and Indre Viskontas and producer Adam Isaak* resigned due to Center for Inquiry CEO Ron Lindsay’s tone deaf comments about women. Well, the team has just officially launched their new venture, Inquiring Minds, in collaboration with Mother Jones and The Climate Desk.

The new show is a podcast that you can subscribe to via iTunes or other podcatcher, but it’s also a video podcast. Do people still say “vodcast”? Anyway, you can see Chris and Indre, and helpful visuals to go along with the discussion and interviews. Check it out and subscribe to the Climate Desk YouTube channel for more.

Their first interview is with Marsha Ivins, a badass astronaut who has been to space five times and is perhaps best known for the famous photos of her awesome hair billowing around in zero G.

I love the new format, and I love having the video option. Congrats to the team on the new venture!

*Full disclosure: Adam Isaak is my partner, so, you know, I really want to see this show be a giant success.

  1. I loved POI, but some time in June my iPod broke. So I totally missed this. I’m glad to see Chris, Indre, and Adam landed on their feet. I’m also continually sad/mad about CFI.

  2. Thank you for the heads up. Of course I will subscribe. I’ve missed these folks. Thanks also for disclosing your CoI. I don’t care about it; but I am glad to have an explanation for why you live in Buffalo.

  3. Note to iPhone users: it’s not listed in iTunes, but if you go to the podcast site in Safari you should get a popup that asks if you want to subscribe.

  4. Never followed the old CFI feed before, but this was great, and I’m subscribing to their feeds. I’ve read so much about Ron Lindsay’s tragic male pattern blindness over on FTB Pharyngula, and have been appalled that an organization with stated goals so aligned with my interests could be so abused by such an ass. But not surprised, since JREF and all. Anyway, thanks for the heads up!
