EVENT: Atlanta Star Party–Tickets Going Fast
Cross-posted with Skepchick Events.
If you’re going to DragonCon or if you’ll be in Atlanta August 29 for any other reason, get your Star Party tickets now before they’re sold out.
The Atlanta Star Party is a popular annual stargazing cocktail party for charity. For $60, you get food and soft drinks (alcoholic drink tickets are available as well), presentations and demos by astronomers, the chance to chat with them informally, and then to cap off the evening, you get a guided tour of the universe–stargazing at Emory Observatory.
Guests this year include Pamela Gay, Phil Plait, Derek Demeter, and Skepchick’s Noisy Astronomer, Nicole Gugliucci. Proceeds this year benefit CosmoQuest, an amazing citizen science organization that needs your help now more than ever. In fact, even if you can’t make it to the party, please consider donating directly to CosmoQuest or bidding on the silent auction items. You do not have to attend to win.
Atlanta Star Party details:
When: August 29, 2013, 7:00 pm

YAAAAAY!
It was a great event! Good food, wonderful presentations, and I even got my picture taken with Phil Plait.
Great to hear! I was very envious of everyone going, as I am every year. It sounds like such a fun event. I’m glad you had a good time.
