Okay, I’m sorry, but I just looked up the temperatures for Madrid and I nearly started laughing. It was 95 (35C) degrees last night when I was wandering downtown Phoenix and I made this Facebook post: “Oh, wow. Despite the earlier dust storms, it is beautiful out. I wouldn’t even call it warm.”
The last time I said, “It is so hot!” it was over 48C outside.
I need to move to Madrid….

True, this week hasn’t been as bad as last week, when we were at 38ºC. But remember they’re not big on air conditioning here, so you’re pretty much melting all day long for two months.
I would like to denigrate Chile’s president for his idiocy and likely cowardice, as this provides, regardless of his own personal feelings, a perceived “out” from being criticized from either side of the issue.
