Skepchick Quickies 4.8

Despite my cursory internet searching, I couldn’t find an interesting piece of history to share today, so instead I’m just going to say Happy Monday and post a picture of this cute little otter.

    Also, the picture of the chicken lecturing to the assembled scientists is unexpectedly great.

  2. Today, 73 years ago, the nazis invaded and occupied Denmark eventually prompting my maternal grandparents to flee with my great-grandmother to neutral Sweden.

    1. There are usually a lot of WWII and other battle dates that I don’t post about because I don’t like to start the day off with Nazis. But it does call for a celebration that your family was able to successfully escape! :)

  3. It’s been on my mind because I’ll be going to Stockholm with my mum next month – they went back to Denmark just after the war ended a few weeks after she was born and she’s never been there since, so she’s never actually seen it.
    I obviously don’t really begrudge people not remembering the date of every single terrible thing the nazis did during WWII (that would just be every single day in the calendar, after all).
