One Day Left to Kick Ass

First off, a huge tackle hug to everyone who has donated so far to Fight Childhood Cancer. Whether we reach our goal or not, what you have done matters. Every penny will go toward cancer research and helping kids with cancer at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Thank you from all of us at Skepchick to every single one of you. You. Kick. Ass.
For those of you unfamiliar with the fundraiser, it is being held in honor of the man who has none, Stanley Burzynski, the Houston doctor who has made millions peddling useless cancer treatments, preying on the desperation and fear of people with cancer and their families, by offering an “alternative” to chemotherapy (that actually is chemotherapy—the only thing alternative about it is its ineffectiveness).
The Skeptics for the Protection of Cancer Patients are hoping to raise $30,000 then ask the Burzynski Clinic, on Stan’s b-day (January 23), to match whatever funds they raise to be donated to St. Jude.
We are holding a Skepchick Challenge to raise $5,000 for the cause by offering an added incentive. If we raise that amount by midnight tomorrow, January 22, Rebecca Watson, Rhys Morgan, and other skeptics and atheists, including special guests from The Skeptics Guide to the Universe, will face off in a game of Team Fortress 2, live-streamed so you can watch the action and listen in on their smack talk.
There’s only one day left to make this happen. Multitask your awesomeness by fighting cancer and the human carcinogen who exploits it, Dr. Burzynski, with the added bonus of bringing about hilarious virtual bloodshed for us all!

Melanie,
Thanks for reminding us about this. I was able to make a small donation at the last minute, pretty much.
By any measure, butt has been kicked. To the max. Thanks everyone!
rjblaskiewicz,
You’re welcome. I still wish we could have raised more money.
I do too, but regardless, thousands of dollars are going to St. Jude that wouldn’t have without this fundraiser. No matter how you look at it, that is awesome. Thank you for donating! And thanks, Bob, for putting this all together.
