- Men-ups: Men in classic pin-up poses – SFW, everyone’s fully clothed. From Kirsty.
- Here be monsters – Yay, friend of Skepchick Stephanie Zvan has a story published in Nature!
- School prayer, part two: Thanksgiving comes to Sturgeon Heights – This has been an ongoing saga at this school. Now the issue is their Thanksgiving celebration that involves religious instruction and prayer. From Angela and Chantel.
- Even compliant parents doubt vaccine safety – “A new study finds that 28% of parents following the CDC-recommended schedule for childhood vaccinations think it would be safer to delay the shots until children are older.”
Why wouldn’t a large percentage of the population still wonder about the safety of vaccines considering the propaganda, vitriol and never ending emotional appeals to protect and keep your children safe by questioning vaccine safety and thinking there may be a connection to a lifelong neurological impairment? I often think pro vaccine campaigns should show a few pictures of what a sick or dead child looks like after suffering the effects of a preventable disease.
“This is your daughter.”
“This is your daughter, dead of pertussis.”
“Any questions?”

But it’s ok, she didn’t get autism.
Good one Mark!
Amanda,
Those men in pinup positions are funny.
I don’t think they’re funny. Aside from the Blue Steel facial expressions, I really enjoyed looking at most of them.
Someone tried to tell me that pertussis, like “virtually all of the things these vaccines are supposed to treat”, was a man-made vaccine and that vaccines cause the illnesses they are supposed to prevent.
Why.
Why don’t men pose like that more often? Grr.
I approve of the pin-up boys. Very cute.
Aw, thanks, Amanda!
catgirl, I think the funny comes from the pursed lips mostly. Otherwise, they are fun pics. If you haven’t, click through to the Flickr set. Bike boy is very pretty.
I like shovel boy best. Rowr!
As the photographer behind the Men-Ups, you have no idea how elated it makes me to be mentioned on here.
They’re awesome! Those pursed lips and power tools really had me laughing.
They’re wonderful! I love how spot on the poses are to typical pin-up poses. (And guiltily, I appreciate how nice the models’ legs look in most of these. Man legs are under appreciated.)
They are awesome! Not nearly naked enough though. ;-)
I really would have thought that different poses would appeal to women. Muscles rippling or something. Well, live and learn.
