A Sweet Plug

Earlier this month, many of the Skepchicks went to DragonCon. Elyse couldn’t make it, but she was instrumental in setting up the vaccine clinic we all keep banging on about (because it was awesome).

We wanted to thank Elyse and tell her that we were all thinking of her, and it took us all of 10 seconds to decide how: cupcakes. Let me be specific: Ultimate Cupcakes.

Tony and Malgosia Monje run Ultimate Cupcake and also happen to be skeptics. They occasionally combine their love of critical thinking and amazing gourmet baked goods, and so they were our first choice when deciding on the best possible long-distance hug. Even though their store is in Texas, they ship cupcakes overnight all over the country, where they arrive fresh and delicious.

Not only did they send Elyse a yummy care package, but they even personalized them with creepy little bears to mirror the Hug Me campaign’s logo. They are the best. The. Best.

So, allow me to use Skepchick ever so briefly to tell you all that if you want to buy some delicious cupcakes and support some awesome, thoughtful skeptics, go to Ultimate Cupcake.

  1. If I lose my foot one day because I ate a dozen Ultimate Cupcakes in 3 days, it would so be worth it.

Hell, I’d give up my other foot, too.

Those were amazing. I loved them!

  2. @Buzz Parsec:

Yeah. The pink things are bears… assuming you’re still looking at the cupcakes and not some “other site”.

But the picks in those things are like 3 1/2″ long. I hid them from Moose for fear of stabbing. They may be pink, but they are no joke… nor are they vaginas. (In which case I would still hide them from Moose, but for different reasons)

  3. What a small world! We have been to the place in Fort Worth (downtown) that used to sell them, and LOVED them. We were back on that side of town last week and called to see if we could make it before they closed. We couldn’t, but they are so good. Knowing they are skeptics makes it so much cooler :)
