Skepticism
Superiority
Something to consider from XKCD. A cartoon entitled, “Atheists”.
Mouse-over text: ‘But you’re using that same tactic to feel superior over me, too!’ ‘Sorry, that accusation expires after one use per conversation.’

Loved it. Considered looking in on the XKCD forum to see what discussion it sparked, but I usually find the quality of debate there annoying.
if dude-on-the-left upped his rhetoric a bit (maybe throw in some vague threats) he could rival Dale Husband as far as obnoxiousness goes.
@Bjornar: I did the same thing and boy was I disappointed. Tons of posts that seem to think the comic was AGAINST atheists, and a bunch of people claiming God is unknowable and any time spent on it is a waste.
any time spent on it is a waste.
That part’s true, at least.
This one puzzles me. Does he dislikes the *idea* of atheists, particular atheists, radical atheists, the atheist at the bar that called him an asshole last night, what? And why just fundamentalist Christians? What about fundamentalists of various other religions?
@tudza: it’s a STICK figure cartoon; brevity is important, not exposition.
I came up with a name for people like the one on the left.
Militant Agnostics. Their motto is “I don’t know, AND YOU DON’T EITHER.”
@mrmisconception: I like that name, Militant Agnostics. I picture little kids who are trying really hard to beat up an body building adult.
