Events Update: TAM 8, Copenhagen, Skepchicon, Skepticon, TAM Australia, TAM London

TAM 8 in Vegas
The Skepchick Party on July 10 is now starting at 9pm (instead of 8pm)! A lot of guests have let us know that they want to see magician Michael Weber’s show Saturday night, which runs until 9:30pm. By starting at 9pm and running the shuttle until 10pm, that will give you all time to see the show and then catch the shuttle for the party. And don’t worry, we won’t be judging the costume contest until late (probably midnight).

I encourage everyone to check out Michael’s show – he taught magic to Christian Bale for The Prestige and is a world-class performer. You can still buy tickets here.

Copenhagen Atheists Conference
Richard Dawkins and James Randi have been added to the bill of this conference coming up on June 18! Of course I’m going to be there, plus PZ Myers, Robin Ince, Richard Wiseman, and plenty more. Tickets are still available!

Skepchicon in Minneapolis
I’m super excited to say that I’ll once again be on the skeptics’ track for Convergence July 1-4, along with Carrie, Maria, Amy, Bug Girl, Jennifer Ouellette, Debbie Goddard, Pamela Gay, Greg Laden, Jennifer Newport, Lois Schadewald, and Teen Skepchick Lyra Lynx! More skepticism, more awesome ladies, more costumes, and yes, more parties. Be there!

Skepticon III
I’ll be returning to Springfield, Missouri for this fabulous FREE conference on November 19! James Randi has just been added to the bill to join Dan Barker, Richard Carrier, Amanda Marcotte, PZ Myers, Sam SIngleton, and Vic Stenger.

TAM Australia
The website has launched for TAM Australia, a sure-to-be awesome event happening November 26-28 in Sydney! I’ll be there along with the rest of the Skeptics’ Guide to the Universe and many others. Tickets go on sale June 20.

TAM London
The second TAM London will be October 16 and 17, and I’ll be there with Stephen Fry, Richard Dawkins, James Randi, Sue Blackmore, Alan Moore, and more! Tickets are available now, and be sure to plan for lots of fringe events taking place in the days before and after the main event. Details on those are coming soon.

So yeah, I’m going to be kind of busy over the next few months, but you really have no reason to not see me at this point.

  1. Why is TAM London planned on the same weekend as the World-renowned Cardiff Half-marathon? Was that just to annoy me?

  2. @Dax: well you could potentially do both, you’ll just be missing most of day two of TAM.

Also, wow, does that Half marathon start late. I only have run 1 half that started at 9:00 and that was only because a freaking tree fell on the path and had to be removed before the start, delaying said start by a 1/2 hour.

  3. @killyosaur: I’m happy it starts late… I’m not a morning runner. And I know I would still be able to do day 1 of TAM, but it’s what happens after the scheduled events that’s the most fun, and intoxicating.

Well, if anyone is going to one or multiple of these listed events: enjoy!

  4. Wow! I’ll be attending half of these from the looks of it. I didn’t realise I was such a comitted skeptic :D
