Skepchicon Update, 5/7/2010
OK! Skepchicon Update! GO!
We’re within the two month mark, and Convergence badge prices go up next week. If you haven’t registered yet, do so by next Saturday, May 15, and save some money.
Fundraising is going very well. Thanks again to all of you who have generously contributed to help make this event happen. With our fund matching offers, it looks like we are very close to our goal. Contribute here, if you are able. If you missed the good news, Skepchicon is now an official event of the Women Thinking Free Foundation, and all your donations will be retroactively tax deductible as soon as Elyse gets the 501c3 paperwork finalized.
Our panel schedule is up! We have a full weekend of thought provoking conversation in store for you. You can find out who will be on each panel by clicking the title. Rebecca and PZ aren’t listed, as they were both in limbo when I submitted the list. I’m still not sure if PZ will make it, but it’s looking likely that Rebecca will. Stay tuned.
Party planning continues, and I’m happy to announce a newly forged unholy alliance with Celebration Generation cakes! Marie is currently in the lab, inventing a buzzed aldrin cake flavor just for us! She’ll also be providing us with her famous caffeinated treats. This year, we decided to stick to one theme: Space. So dress accordingly, if you’re so inclined.
That’s all for now. Watch this space for further updates.
I’ll just be over here squeeing at the very idea of a Pi St. Patrick’s day cake. That site is awesome.

I just finished this nerdcake: http://kimberlychapman.livejournal.com/538247.html Most of it constructed while still catching up with SGU…I’m up to February 2010 now!
Yay! I’m excited to attend my first Skepchicon! The panel lineup looks great. I think I’ll really enjoy The Women as Skeptical Activists and Physics or Fantasy talks.
@kimberlychapman: dooood. love the cake.
Wow, that cake is awesome.
As for costume, space just happens to be the one thing I have very little stuff for. I’ll have to get really creative …
