Creationism in the Boston Globe

Okay, so I was waaaay behind on this one. I know Blake and PZ and others already went there but a number of you sent this in and I like to keep tabs on the Globe for Bostonist. Therefore, I just posted this. You should click the link if for no other reason than to see the bizarre lolcat I’ve included. Also, I reference Twilight.

  1. Actually, Rebecca, lolcats can out-write most newswriters these days…

Congrats on your recent hitched-up-ness, by the way.

  2. “That’s right: it’s not enough that blogs do a better job of reporting science and informing the public, but in this case blog commenters have bested the Boston Globe. What’s next? Lolcats correcting the Globe’s basic factual errors?”

Now THAT’S funny (and unfortunately, sadly, true).

  3. From Rebecca’s article:

Thomas Jefferson died 30 years before Darwin published Origin of Species.

You expect people who want to squish all 4.55 billions of years of earth history into 6000 years, to do math correctly? Or check facts?

  4. Considering that Thomas Jefferson is renowned for removing all the supernatural from his Bible, I hardly think he’s a candidate for creationism.

  5. Oh Their God, that lolcat is hilarious! Maybe my name gave it away, but I just can’t resist lolcats. Also, good article.
