I was in Target on Friday and saw Airborne and Zicam sitting on the shelves right next to real, FDA-approved medications. That was irritating enough but then I saw this garbage, targeted at kids and in convenient pixie stix form.
From the “pleasure nerve” article:
“And people had to be stroked at a certain speed…”
Must…..resist….hilarious….joke…..about…private parts….that’s…what…she said…..
Damn! I knew Madonna was into woo and never cared about McCartney, but I had some respect for Paltrow. Are these people actively trying to keep me away from movie theaters?
Two predictions.
1) CAM practitioners will point to these nerves as being the mechanisms for their chi crap.
2) The creationists will go nuts that this scientist said the nerves were not in the hand by “design.” I’m hoping that since “deliberate” was not in quotes that this did not come from the researcher. Take care when talking to the media!
Wow, that threesome is brainsy and fanshionable. If I get everything in my wardrobe the same as theirs, maybe I can be just as intelligent as they are!
The death of CAM schools cannot happen soon enough…at least in my neighborhood: http://mully410.blogspot.com/2008/11/this-how-our-world-is-going-to-end-not.html
Someone in the comments section of the trinity of celebrities article linked to a hilarious story about Madonna and nuclear waste:
http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article614373.ece
and excerpt: “I mean, one of the biggest problems that exists right now in the world is nuclear waste,†she said. “That’s something I’ve been involved with for a while with a group of scientists — finding a way to neutralise radiation, believe it or not.â€
@whitebird: I’m going to go with “not” on that one.
So, Jesus was resurrected in the 1350s? That’s news!
The whole tone of that celebrity article had me grinning the whole way through. Then I got sad because I realized that it was all true. Oy..
Am I the only one who looked down at their own crotch after seeing the headline “scientists find pleasure nerve?” It wasn’t much of a search, and I’ve done some research. Lots of positive results. I, too, found an optimal speed, though I haven’t measured it.
Universities establishing CAM courses as part of degree programs to get teh moneez = *headdesk*.
Universities shutting down CAM courses as part of degree programs because of poor enrolements = -Nelson laugh-.
As an update, that atrocity, Allertherapy, is no longer on the market! Hurrah!
