  1. I was in Target on Friday and saw Airborne and Zicam sitting on the shelves right next to real, FDA-approved medications. That was irritating enough but then I saw this garbage, targeted at kids and in convenient pixie stix form.

  2. From the “pleasure nerve” article:

“And people had to be stroked at a certain speed…”

    Must…..resist….hilarious….joke…..about…private parts….that’s…what…she said…..

  3. Two predictions.

    1) CAM practitioners will point to these nerves as being the mechanisms for their chi crap.

    2) The creationists will go nuts that this scientist said the nerves were not in the hand by “design.” I’m hoping that since “deliberate” was not in quotes that this did not come from the researcher. Take care when talking to the media!

  4. Someone in the comments section of the trinity of celebrities article linked to a hilarious story about Madonna and nuclear waste:

    http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/uk/article614373.ece

and excerpt: “I mean, one of the biggest problems that exists right now in the world is nuclear waste,” she said. “That’s something I’ve been involved with for a while with a group of scientists — finding a way to neutralise radiation, believe it or not.”

  5. The whole tone of that celebrity article had me grinning the whole way through. Then I got sad because I realized that it was all true. Oy..

  6. Am I the only one who looked down at their own crotch after seeing the headline “scientists find pleasure nerve?” It wasn’t much of a search, and I’ve done some research. Lots of positive results. I, too, found an optimal speed, though I haven’t measured it.

  7. Universities establishing CAM courses as part of degree programs to get teh moneez = *headdesk*.

Universities shutting down CAM courses as part of degree programs because of poor enrolements = -Nelson laugh-.

  8. As an update, that atrocity, Allertherapy, is no longer on the market! Hurrah!
