For those of you who have been waiting with bated breath (and those who have no idea what I’m talking about), I have news about the upcoming Skepchick Con/Skeptics Track at Convergence. We have confirmation that PZ Myers and Pamela Gay will be attending (w00t!), as well as our own Rebecca Watson (and a handful of other Skepchicks) and I’m still working on getting more guests. If you happen to be connected to (or are yourself) someone (especially a woman) who you think would be a good panelist, please contact me through the Skepchick contact form or via the Facebook group.
I’m working on getting a web page set up for the event, but in the meantime, you can stay up to date by joining this Facebook group.

Really want to go, but will have to choose between this, TAM, and Dragon*Con. As I have friends and family in MSP area, it may be the cheapest option. Decisions, decisions…

I was so excited about going to TAM 7 this year. I checked the Amtrak schedule and everything. When I was trying to figure out how to get from the train station to TAM I realized that the train stops in Las Vegas, New Mexico and TAM is in Las Vegas, Nevada. Oopsie. No TAM for dave.
I think the train goes to Minneapolis, though. I’ll have to think of some compelling reason for my wife to come along. I’ve got her hooked on Drinking Skeptically. Maybe that will be enough.
@davew: i assure you that there will be plenty of skeptical drinking happening, featuring the now infamous buzzed aldrin. we’d love to have you.
PZ and I will almost certainly throw down about the best way to teach evolution/deal with creationists.

Pamela Gay = WIN. This week’s Astronomy Cast made my brain feel good, which is rare in this day and age, apparently.
@exarch: i’m sure we can find you a place to crash, and there is tons of fun stuff to do around here. tim3p0 and i are planning to host activities for people in town before and after the con, for interested parties. some ideas have been: art museum tours, fishing, minnehaha falls, science museum, hiking….as i said, there’s a ton to do around here in the summer. so don’t worry, it’ll be a blast.
I’m going to Convergence and TAM7. OMFSM, this means I will get two long weekends in a row with high caliber skeptics! :D I feel like I’ve died and been resuscitated.
