- Creation Museum prepares for Darwin anniversary. (Thanks, Emory.)
- In Arkansas, six children have been placed in temporary state custody as they are interviewed in the wake of a raid on a church compound as part of a child-porn investigation. (Thanks, hotphysicsboy.)
- Jesus is watching you exercise. (Thanks, Steve.)
- From Indexed: believe it when you see it.
I have to say that I’m a little disappointed in ceiling-tile-stain Jesus. Is it my imagination or are the standards for crazy pareidolia slipping? It seems like Jesus used to be a lot clearer and more defined in his grilled cheese and wood knot days.
Hmmm. If Alamo and Co. were doing nothing wrong, why did they see the need for armed guards to patrol the grounds? Seems odd for a peaceful church, doesn’t it?
And here we go with the usual, “Poor, poor me! Our immoral, anti-Christian enemies etc. etc.” bit for the faithful.
“Where do these allegations stem from? The anti-Christ government. The Catholics don’t like me because I have cut their congregation in half. They hate true Christianity.”
No, we all hate lying polygamists, tax evaders, child abusers and pornographers that prey on children and the gullible . Surprise, even atheists hate them.
Hmmm. I wonder if the water stain looked a penis, they would be scandalized. Or worse, if it looked like Satan?
How come Satan doesn’t do this – it seems to get a lot of publicity… ;-)
That’s not Jesus. It’s Vin Diesel.
I loved the quote, “Believing is believing. Regardless of what you see,”
Eh?
Some people believe and find experiences that validate that belief… other people wait to experience and then believe.
Some people will believe… anything.
In the words of a very wise (and hot) man… “Reality doesn’t stop being reality just because you choose to be an idiot.â€
@QuestionAuthority:
What make you think that Alamo and his gang are a “peaceful church”?
There are a lot of churches that do emphasize peace and forgiveness – including most of the mainstream denominations. There are also a lot of groups that like the idea of the church militant and really miss the good ol’ days of burning the heathens at the stake.
@ durnett – I was being a bit sarcastic there. Maybe I should have used quotation marks around that phrase…
…and if they start burning heathens again, then I want to be a Viking and sack churches…LOL
@QuestionAuthority:
Dibs on druidism. I already have my Holy Trees picked out!
@QuestionAuthority: I’m with you on that one! HAIL TO THE HAMMER!
@durnett:
Primordial Heathen Tribes
@killyosaur42:
Very apt! You are definitely the large, scary lizard with the ready quote!
Where’s my helm and sword?! It’s time to thin the ranks of the scum! LOL
I saw the story of Jesus watching you exercise on CNN … Does anyone else wonder if this is only a “story” because of the recent film “Henry Poole is Here”? … Did anyone see it?
@TheSkepticalMale:
I wondered the same thing briefly. Rightly or wrongly, I dismissed that idea because of the wealth of pre-Henry Poole articles about Jesus appearing in one kind of stain or another.
I would be surprised to know that the Henry Poole movie isn’t in response to the continuing stream of these articles rather than the reverse.
I will continue to keep on dreaming about unicorns the poo candy, thank you very much.
1) Why does evolution scare the crap out of fundies? I just don’t get it. The catholics don’t seem to be that scared of it.
2)Sick bastards. If this is true I hope the government will be able to provide convincing proof in a court and get the offeneders very long prison sentences.
3) That’s it. I’m going to start making stained bits of junk and selling them on e-bay as jesus stains. They don’t have to look like anything and I can still make money.
Creation Museum prepares for Darwin anniversary.
Prepares new exhibit called “LA LA LA LA NA NA NA NA I CAN’T HEAR YOU BA BA BA BA.” Preventative plugs issued to protect eardrums from clumsy fingers.
The jesus-at-the-gym story reminded me of this:

“Evolutionists flock to Darwin-shaped wall stain”
@Gabrielbrawley: I think it’s because the fundamentalists have chained themselves to a very literal reading of the Bible that allows for little interpretation or change. Darwin is a direct contradiction to their literalism, so they have to see it as a challenge. The Catholics have a much more liberal interpretation of the Bible (not to mention that they Catholic and Protestant Bibles differ in the books included), so they have some mental “wiggle room” when something is discovered that contradicts their viewpoint.
@LBB: Don’t forget the peril-sensitive sunglasses for a small additional charge!
That’s not Vin Deisel! It’s William Shatner! :-D
Whoa! Anyone seen this?

@QuestionAuthority: Thank you, that helps me understand a little. I was raised a fundie and even then I couldn’t understand why evolution was the only bad science.
No problem! Thanks for the shout out!
@hotphysicsboy: Yeah, and thanks for your avatar, too.
Rawr! You skepchicks truly define hotness though, I mean, there’s not even a comparison anywhere in the known universe
