“Strange” Rock {Teen Skepchick}
Look everybody! It’s a strange rock!
Well, folks. I suppose we were wrong about aliens. Roswell has been contacted by extraterrestrials again. The Roswell Daily Record is reporting that they’ve found a “strange rock” that is raising questions.
(This is a slight test — we hope to do more Skepchick/Teen Skepchick cross-posting in the future. Also, new Teen authors coming soon, promise! -Rebecca)
“with what appears to be moon phases, a solar eclipse and the depiction of a supernova”
Wow… now that’s impressive. Now if only I could figure out which bit is the supernova… is it the square bits under the circle bits, or the roundish bit around the square bits?
Hm. This test has made me realize something that should’ve been obvious — I need to figure out a way to make all links, including the headline, point to Teen Skepchick. Don’t you all love reading a home-grown blog?
Anyway, feel free to comment on either this post or over on Teen Skepchick — your usernames are all good on both (though you might have to log in again).
I would make that from cast concrete with an embedded magnet. The color could be more subtle – maybe some veining to make it look more like a natural rock? It currently looks too much like the Lowe’s “terra cotta” colored concrete stain. I think imitating basalt would be a good idea as basalt can have some magnetic properties.
You should be able to turn comments off for a single post, thus forcing the traffic to the original post.
