Tracy just clued me in to today’s update on Blue Collar Scientist’s blog. BCS is also known as Jeff Medkeff, a wonderful man and talented astronomer working in Alaska. (He’s the guy who recently named asteroids after me, Phil Plait, PZ Myers, and Michael Stackpole.)
Jeff has just been diagnosed with liver cancer. He posted back in May that he was having health issues, but I stupidly didn’t think much of it since he’s such a healthy, young guy. My thoughts go out to him during what’s sure to be a grueling time. Those of you who haven’t read his blog before should go check it out, and if the spirit moves you (…), send him an email or a Skype note.
