Skepchick Quickies 6.30
- Cectic’s latest strip-Â A take on this event that had me laughing like an idiot this morning.
- Gendered ritual spaces and anthropology– Male anthropologist is denied access to a females-who-have-given-birth-only fertility shrine despite appeals to religious leaders. I know, it’s nothing new but as Jezebel says, “Yeah, Bob, now you know how women anthropological researchers feel much of the time. Sucks, doesn’t it?”
- New Space Camp Barbie debutes July 4– Take that, “Math is hard!” Barbie.
- Is morning sickness an evolutionary adaptation? – Please don’t throw things at me, I’m just the messenger.
I don’t know about evolution but I’ve been sick of mornings for years now…
Wait what?
SEX – the great equalizer!
just for the record: dude is not an anthropologist. he’s a historian of religion. and apparently not a very nice guy, if you believe the comments over at jezebel.
sorry. just trying to defend my field ;)
Sorry, Carr! I would never willfully besmirch the name of anthropology, it being the field of my heart.
someone else already said it at the jezebel comments, but the lady in the picture of the “guy denied entry into women’s ritual space”(btw, headline for Onion article on nerds?) looks like the international body language ambassador of “bitch, PLEASE.”. I’m loling.
