Russell T Davies has officially redeemed himself. I’ve just finished watching the first episode of the fourth series of Doctor Who, and it was completely fantastic. Last year’s over-hyped finale and christmas special left me wishing for the low budget, quirky brilliance of series one. He must have heard me, because the show seems to have rediscovered its soul.
Catherine Tate is great (wow, that rhymes), and she and David Tennant (who btw looks as lean and sexilicious as ever…mmm…) have this wonderful comic chemistry that has completely rejuvenated the series for me. They did spend some money on production, but the special effects were not the focus of the show, and the little c.g. monsters are completely adorable (and totally cheesy).
I can only hope that this isn’t a fluke, and can continue throughout the fourth series (my fingers are crossed–in a skepchickal way).
I now return you to your regularly scheduled skepchick programming.
