- Here’s PZ’s followup to last night and here’s what’s on the Expelled website in regards to what happened. Note some slight differences? (Thanks to Sam for the second link.)
- Don’t put lice on your bits– Thanks to Bug Girl for that clarification.
- Saudis to retrain 40,000 clerics– “The Saudi royal family has come under increasing pressure – mainly from Washington – to change religious textbooks and to rein in militant clerics.”
- Has the notion of sin been lost?– Oh, I don’t know, I see plenty of desserts described as “sinful.”
- 1970’s Jesus Jeans advertisement– As the post says, the ad raises many questions.
how sad is it that “don’t intentionally get pubic lice” actually needs to be said?
i’m not sure this needs to be said, but the organization cited in the letter to the expelled site, maranatha christian fellowship, is notorious on the u of m campus for spouting false and inflammatory bullshit in order to attract attention.
The article is about Dawkins “crashing” the Expelled party. I don’t think it mentions PZ at all… HA.
According to the article about sin, the overwhelming majority of people find adultery and racism to be sins while less than half think premarital sex is a sin and only 18% think not going to church regularly is sinful behavior. The major theme of the article seems to be that more people are basing their ideas of right and wrong on what hurts themselves and others rather than some antiquated book. We still have a long way to go, but yay!
The article said it best:
Answer: none.
Alas, the answer to the ‘what’s with the well-list body hair’ question on the Jesus Jeans posts is likely to be “anorexia”.
I must say, though, those are pretty much my perfect jeans. I wish I could find a pair.
That should be “well-lit”.
