Finally, the pilot episode of Curiosity, Aroused!

I turned it in Wednesday night to be sure I met the Thursday at 5pm deadline. PRX has put the pilot (and that of the other two winners, Glynn and Al) online for you to hear! There’s no voting this time, since now it’s all up to the Corporation for Public Broadcasting to decide whether or not they want to throw some money at me to make more episodes. You can still leave nice comments on each entry, which would be much appreciated due to the tremendous amount of work that we all put in to these shows.

So, listen and enjoy!

  1. My mum's name is Joan – I'm freaked out, Rebecca is psychic!

I hope this gets picked up, it was a really fun show!

  2. Thanks guys!

thad, thanks, but I would prefer people listen on the PRX site if only to encourage people to leave comments and to check out the other two winners, Al and Glynn.

  3. Rebecca,

Excellent show. I especially like the homage you paid to Perry. I know some may think it's kind of cheap using a dead friend like that. But even though I only knew him through SGU, I can say pretty confidently that he'd approve.

All in all, an excellent show. I hope it gets picked up!

  4. Some people think that what you do is flaky – that's just someone's opinion.

What a priceless comment for the end of that segment. A little projection, perhaps? :-)

Great job, Rebecca. I was especially curious as to how you were going to discuss the psychic fair and I liked how you handled it. The lipstick info was good to know, too. All in all it was engaging. 'Hope there's more to come.

  5. Well I'm slightly amused: one of the voices sampled in your pilot show is my second cousin. :)

Great job: I'd love to hear more of this every week. What bigwigs are ruling on it?

  6. I really liked the show Rebecca. It was to the point and made a lot of sense. It is so nice to hear a radio show that was a counter point to a lot of the woo out there.

  7. I'm a bit late to the party, as always, but still thought I should say:

    I hate the show.

Just kidding :) I thought it was really good, very well done. Your guests were (obviously) very interesting and entertaining people, and you had great chemistry with them. You make me wish I was something more than an armchair skeptic so that there'd be some reason I could end up on your show! :-P

Anyway, I can't see how they won't pick this up. If something goes astray and they do refuse you, however, I advocate the Milton from Office Space approach. No, not the "act weird and squirelly and talk about staplers" bit…the "I'll just burn the building down" bit. ;)
