No parties while I’m gone!
So darlings, I have chosen this incredibly busy and stressful time to jet off to Alaska in search of adventure. Well, I didn’t choose it so much as it chose me. The JREF’s Amaz!ng Adventure sets sail Sunday, so I’ll be heading out early tomorrow morning to meet up with a ton of skeptics in Vancouver, BC. It’s been too long since I’ve seen the Pac NW, so I’m really looking forward to that. Plus, this will be my first cruise, and I’ve heard that these things are basically nonstop indulge-athons. Sweet!
It won’t be all hedonistic/heathenistic play, though, as I will be giving a talk on board and participating in a panel discussion with Randi, Phil Plait, and Hal Bidlack. Somebody had to represent the ladies, I guess. They couldn’t find a lady so they got me.
Anyway, be good while I’m gone and I promise to return September 10 with photos, stories, and maybe even some fun audio for a podcast.
Cruises are great fun. I enjoyed standing out on the deck at night and watching the water move by with some friends. Oh, and don't forget about the endless buffets. If you don't gain 10 pounds then you really didn't do it right. ;D
So they got you? Well… you're close enough to a lady to count as one.
Lookin' forward to the podcast!
I'm going to have to make a note to use the word "heathenistic" more often.
Have a great trip. We're all jealous!
Just like Under Siege was billed as "Die Hard: ON A BOAT!" this cruise is gonna be like "Randi Speaks: ON A BOAT!"
I would like to dissapoint everyone that wishes me to install various hidden webcams in the cabin. Even if I knew how to work the things, it isn't going to happen.
For a small fee I will write a tell all blog about rooming with Rebecca. But be warned, it will probably be things like when she said "how do these shoes look with this dress?" and "wasn't the King Crab last night just wonderful?"
I first read the headline as, "no panties while I'm gone," and I thought, Damn! Why didn't I book that cruise?
Sadly, I'm not going on the cruise (would have REALLY loved to). BUT, I live in Vancouver — where's the meet at? And is any skeptic invited, or just those on the cruise?
No parties…? That doesn't seem at all fair.
Just to defy rebecca, I'm going to have a party anyway.
Although it's not really going to be a party, but more of a banquet thing.
But anyway, indulgence in food, medieval style. Should be good.
Yeah. Hell. I'm going to have a party too!
Have fun, Rebecca. Let me know if you need any help fending off pirates or advice about seasickness or anything. Take lots of photos!
