Ah, Saturday.

I’m eagerly awaiting Blake’s decision for what he’s like me to video-blog about. Not to put too much pressure on, but the result may end up being shown at The Amaz!ng Meeting 5, coming up in just two weeks. People seem interested in some kind of behind-the-scenes thing, which could be a lot of fun. Or, it could be really boring since most of what I do involves me typing on the computer for five hours at a time. Even though it’s 65 degrees and sunny outside, and my bike is riiiiiight there, just waiting. Waiting.

Ahem, sorry.

You know what would make me feel better about being stuck in here writing when I should be outside playing? Winning a Bloggie Award. They’re accepting nominations now. I don’t mean to give anyone ideas, but Memoirs of a Skepchick is an American, Topical, Humorous, Well-Written (?), Secret, New for 2006 blog. Just saying.

  1. Hmm. 'Topical Weblog' sounds like some sort of creme or salve one might use. 'Oh man, my skin is totally breaking out!' 'Here, use some of this topical weblog. It will clear it right up!'

Anyway, somehow I just got the crazy idea to nominate this blog for a bunch of things…and NOBODY gave me that idea, at all! I must be one of them, uh, whatchamacallums…Psychics. I'm a psychic skepchuck!

  2. Well, you just have to know that when someone says "shove it up your …" they usually don't mean that litterally.

They don't??? Sweet mercy! Sitting down is going to be such a joy from now on. Thanks, exarch!

  4. I'll totally endorse a "behind the scenes" video, if you've got something cool enough to get behind the scenes of. The best idea I could cook up on my own was a "skeptic on the street" thing. . . Remember the scene in Cosmos where Carl Sagan buys two newspapers from the same New York subway newsstand and checks their horoscopes, finding them horribly contradictory? I'd like to see that. I also want to go into the Public Library's microfilm archives and get the horoscopes from all newspapers printed in New York City the morning of 11 September 2001. How much money are you willing to be that none of them said "Avoid tall buildings" or "Acts of kindness by strangers will bring great meaning"?
