Jack Chick is nothing if not timely. Evolution in the news? BAM, he whips up a tract that would make Darwin quiver in his underpants. Crazy witch demons preying on the innocent minds of teenaged girls? BIZZOW, he’s on the scene. So of course, when tensions between Muslims and, well, everyone else are at an all-time high, you can count on the Chickster to come through with a poignant tale of terror!
Men of Peace is a fact-filled fun-fest about the origins of Islam, as a man attempts to convince his daughter that she’s cheering for the wrong religious team. As Muslim terrorists blow up London, “Jenny” learns that Islam isn’t a religion of peace — in fact, they’ve just been a bunch of assholes since day one. Will Jenny see the light and accept Jesus as her personal savior by the end? I won’t ruin it for you, but let me just say that yes, yes she does.
Like my last Chick review, I’ll give a brief overview of the highlights of this strip:
*Blind hypocrisy concerning Allah vs. God
*Man getting his hands ripped off with blood spurting out of the remaining stumps and a look on his face that seems to say, “I can’t believe the WB canceled Charmed!”
*Head gets lopped off
This tract left me a little disappointed. After all, it’s easy to find ways to dislike Islam, particularly when its adherents want to kill everybody else on the planet. Chick is at his best when he’s stretching his creative muscles to come up with new ways to be ignorant about science and reality in general. What saves the tract, though, is that drawing of the blood spurting out that man’s stumps. It doesn’t matter how many times I see it, I always giggle and think, “Oh, Mohammed. What will you do next?” That one panel doubles the score I’m going to give this tract — two out of five eternally damned sinners.

Well, exarch, he does lay into Catholicism pretty hard in a few tracts. Then again, to believe Jack Chick, Catholics aren't Christians, so maybe that doesn't count.
