Well, it’s official. There is a gap in evolution.

“Smart Grants” were instituted this year by the US Department of Education. They promote science and mathematics by offering up to $4,000 to students in certain fields of study like astronomy. Among a large list of fields, one is conspicuously absent: evolutionary biology.

Sure, maybe it’s an oversight. Maybe when deciding what fields to include, someone meant to list each of the ten concentrations under the category of “Ecology, Evolution, Systematics and Population Biology” but accidentally skipped over the third one down, “evolution.” Whoops! Or maybe some members of the US government are uninterested in teaching people the other side of the “controversey.”

Hmm, is this what it feels like to be a conspiracy theorist? When do I see my first black helicopter?

Here’s the link article.

  1. Rebecca,

Just because you haven't seen any black helicopters yet, doesn't mean that they're not there! I've heard that they have some new kind of optical stealth technology that they got from the aliens in Area51. They've probably been outside your bedroom window every night for the last couple of years, watching you.

    Oh wait, that's just 'exarch'.

  2. Although I can understand how someone might mistake my snoring for the sound of a stealth helicopter.

  3. Wait, exarch! All this time you've just been SLEEPING outside Rebecca's window?

As stalkers go, sir, you are pretty lame! Have you no sense of (in)decency? There are standards to be maintained!

  4. I’ll check-out this conspiracy theory as soon as I finish proving my theory that the Kennedy assassination was actually a suicide.

Milk just came out my nose! And I wasn't even drinking milk…

  6. I sleep sometimes, like when rebecca isn't home. But sometimes she manages to not trip the sensors that wake me up when she returns, and I'm still sleeping when she gets in …

Even stealth helicopters make "some" noise, but because it sounds so much like a person snoring, nobody bothers to check it out.
