Stephanie Zvan and A Woman’s Room Online

If you are anywhere near Los Angeles on Tuesday, October 7th, at 7 pm, I encourage you to join the women of LAWAAG and see a talk by Stephanie Zvan.

Stephanie Zvan

This event is sponsored by LAWAAG but is open to the public. That means everyone, including men, women, well behaved dogs and Little Sebastian look alike ponies are all welcome to join us at this event.

Stephanie’s talk will be about the following:

Taking a Pollyanna Break: Celebrating Our Wins. Description: “The last few years have been hard on feminists in the atheist and skeptic movements. The fight isn’t going away, so let’s take an evening to look back and remember what we’ve accomplished.

What is the great thing about this event other than it sounds inspiring and educational, you ask? It’s also free!

We kindly ask for a $5 donation to help us pay for beverages and snacks and to help pay the rent to use the venue BUT it’s not required for you to attend. If you can help us out we appreciate it, but if you can’t and you want to make new friends and learn about feminism and atheism them we will welcome you regardless.

The event takes place at:
Center for Inquiry-Los Angeles,
4773 Hollywood Blvd.
L.A., CA 90027
at 7pm

The other great thing about this event? It may be your last chance to see the fantastic art installation called, A Woman’s Room Online.

This art installation has been a huge success and has been covered on Slate, We Hunted The Mammoth, The LAist, Bustle, Huffington Post as well as many other blogs with some more print pieces scheduled to come out soon. But the installation itself will only be available for actual viewing by you for the next two weeks. October 13th is the scheduled closing day.

So come on down on October 7th, hear what Stephanie has to say and see a groundbreaking exhibit that turned online misogyny into art. It’s a double win!

More info on LAWAAG can be found here. AND we have a shiny new Meetup page where we will be posting our official events and other fun science and educational group events in the area! Join us!
