Jeffrey Rowland at Boston Skeptics in the Pub (And: Updates!)

For skeptics and artists and others around Boston: I’m pleased to announce that our next guest at Boston Skeptics in the Pub will be artist Jeffrey Rowland, who draws the hilarious and very skeptical comics Overcompensating and Wigu. The night will be a fun mix of heresy, art, ridiculous t-shirts, and beer.

OvercompensatingWe’ll be back in our usual space this time: the top floor of Tommy Doyle’s in Harvard Square. Be there at or before 7pm and bring your friends cuz it’s totally free!

(Here’s the Facebook invite.)

While I’m giving updates, I’d like to mention that I still don’t have a laptop at home but a computer is on its way to me, so I hope to be back to fully functional by sometime next week. If any home invaders are reading this, please be aware that the computer will be well-protected and equipped with a tracking system, plus bears.

Also, I’m still working on Paint drawings for those of you who contributed to the fund. Each one takes me awhile to think of and draw, and I’m going in order of who donated first, so thank you for your patience!

Also also, thank you to those of you who sent non-monetary gifts! I haven’t had a chance to send you individual thank-yous yet, but they’re on the way. I got cool presents, postcards, and lovely hand-written notes. It is all very much appreciated. You people are the best.

Finally, a word about the Skepchick podcast: a number of you have written asking when the next episode will appear. I’m sorry it’s taken so long, but the Skepchicks have been waylayed by a number of setbacks and tragedies, of which my home burglary was just one. Jobs, families, and health issues have all contributed. I’m sure we’ll all work through the tough times and get back to blogging, podcasting, vodcasting, and partying soon enough. Again, thanks for your patience!

  1. Thanks for the update on the podcast status. You have probably already considered this, but I thought I would give useless advice anyway.

The FSM has blessed us with a multitude of Skepchicks which makes it very difficult to get a plurality together for a podcast. However, it also makes it more possible that one or two could get podcrazy by themselves. Instead of aiming to get the full Skepchick Command on a podcast, maybe you should set the easier – but no less worthy goal – of podcasts with a smaller…ummm…cast.

Like the FSM says, whenever two or three Skepchicks are gathered in my name, I will be there among them. With pirates.

  2. The podcasts are a fun addition to this website, but the web site should take priority over the podcast. Of course real life takes priority over anything.

So I can wait for the podcast. I’m in no hurry.
